of 1995, Calvary Chapel of Midland-Odessa began meeting as a church in a local
cafe. In 1998 Calvary Chapel purchased land, and in 1999 the first phase of
construction began.
Leonard Cotten, pastor of Calvary Chapel West Texas, grew up on a ranch north of
Midland. Leonard completed his biblical studies at Calvary Chapel Bible College in
Twin Peaks, California, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth,
Texas. He has pastored churches in Texas and Nebraska. Pastor Leonard also taught
at Calvary Chapel Bible College, Twin Peaks, California. Leonard is married to Jan,
and they have two grown sons, Justin and Tell. Justin is married to BethAnne and Tell
is married to Andi. Leonard and Jan are blessed with four grandchildren.
