Frequently Asked Questions…
1. How do I become a member of Calvary Chapel West Texas?
Calvary Chapel WT does not have an actual membership. We believe that when a person is saved they become a member of the larger body of Christians. Those who make their ‘home’ here, serve with commitment, and study and worship here, are considered a part of our fellowship.
2. What if I am not sure I am a Christian?
You may call and schedule a time to meet with the pastor or staff member, or you may see the pastor after church services. The church office number is (432) 561-9141. Also, at the Information Center, (located on the North Porch), we have free publications that will help to address your concerns and questions.
3. May I participate in your quarterly communion services?
Yes. Anyone who is a committed believer in Christ may join us for communion.
4. What do you teach about baptism?
We believe all believers should be baptized (immersed) as a public demonstration of their faith and obedience to Jesus Christ. If you have already been baptized before coming to Calvary Chapel, as a committed follower of Christ, we do not ask that you be baptized again. However, if you have not been baptized we would consider it a privilege to help you in this important step of your Christian walk. We offer outdoor baptisms throughout the summer months.
5. How does Calvary Chapel West Texas relate to other churches and denominations?
We are non-denominational. While we are a part of the fellowship of Calvary Chapel churches world wide, we are autonomous, and we do not report to any central or district headquarters.
6. What style of worship music do you have?
Our worship music is a simple combination of ‘praise and worship’ and traditional hymns. It is presented in a folk, country style led by our worship team.
7. How is your church governed and organized? Who is in charge?
Our fellowship is pastor/board directed.
8. Are you a ‘cowboy church’?
No, we are not a ‘cowboy church‘. This assumption has been made throughout the years due to the pastor’s ranching background. People of all occupations attend Calvary Chapel West Texas.
9. How do I support Calvary Chapel West Texas?
We have tithing boxes located at the back of our sanctuary. We do not pass an offering plate during services to collect tithes. You may also send offerings by mail to our church address. Calvary Chapel West Texas never solicits monetary donations. We believe where God guides, He provides.
10. Are CD’s of the services available?
Yes. They may be ordered at the Information Center on the North Porch.
